We are Tania and Gaetano, two expats who moved our families to Spain for new adventures. We both moved here from the US, Tania (originally from the UK) in 2020, with her husband and daughter from Northern Virginia, and Gaetano in 2023 with his two daughters from Los Angeles. We all met in Valencia and got along incredibly well, but while we cracked each other up discussing our fun times adjusting to Spain, there were quite a few eye-rolls from our girls (tweens and teenagers anyone!). In an effort to give our daughters a little break we thought what the heck, let’s share our experiences with unsuspecting strangers instead. This podcast came to life and we hope you enjoy the pitfalls and joys of our experiences - we all have!

Welcome to A Spain. Buenos das Tanya. Buenos diaz. So this episode is going to
0:16
be how Spain puts a smile on our face. And we came up with this this topic
0:23
because um we have a collective ah Spain cuz we wanted to do this episode
0:29
to be about tortillas. That's not happening. Can you tell us can you tell our listeners why it's not happening?
0:37
Yes. Um so we start so we had this great idea because we've been talking about it
0:42
now for I don't know how many weeks that we're going to go and try this amazing supposedly amazing um tortilla
0:48
restaurant. Well, it's a it's a regular cafe, but they apparently they have really good tortillas as part of their tapas. It's a bar. It's a bar. Sorry.
0:55
Yes. Surface bar restaurant. Surface Syria. So, it's really just a bar a beer hall, I'm assuming, right? Is that what
1:01
that kind of mean? Serious? I don't know what they are cuz we haven't managed to make it there yet. Nope. So, what
1:07
happened was is the first time we we went there and uh and they were closed.
1:13
Now in in all due respect to the scenario and Spain, there was a holiday the day before. So it is possible that
1:21
you know we had picked that day because the kids were going back to school and we were like we just want to do this the two of us because we didn't want kids
1:27
being like ew I don't like this doctor yet and I don't like this one. So we were like we're going to go just the two of us and enjoy it together. And we went
1:34
there and they were closed and we just you know which happens a lot to me but I think I think we've talked about this
1:40
before. This does not happen to you that often. This happens to me all the time. I don't Yeah, not with the frequency in
1:46
this. I don't think not with the frequency you you um that occurs for you in the country doesn't happen here. Um
1:52
but now I've been proven wrong. So, but maybe maybe because you're with me, I might be the person that drinks these
1:58
things. So, for me, I was like, "Oh, it's closed." And there was a really lovely cafe across the street. Um little
2:04
restaurant, breakfast, you know, the bakery. So, we went over there and we had a lovely breakfast. So, this is how
2:09
it works. you you the thing that you want to do isn't happening for whatever 25 million reasons it's not going to
2:15
happen. You got to go find something else and enjoy yourself. Exactly. And you know, and that's the thing about
2:21
living in Spain, right? So, it's it's um or living anywhere that you're not used to is things get get done differently
2:27
and you can either be angry and resist and push back or you just, you know, I
2:33
since I've lived here, I've learned to accept things a lot more. I've become more zen in that in that regard. In that
2:40
you're like, well, it's not here. What am I? It's not going to do me any good being upset over some What is that?
2:45
What's that thing? What's that? Serenity bear. Don't get upset about the things you can't change and accept the things you can or whatever that thing is. It's
2:52
that living in Spain for sure. Well, and I mean and we posted the the video on
2:57
YouTube and everywhere like on our social media of where we ended up and the breakfast we ended up happening. So,
3:03
I don't think anyone's going to be feeling that sorry for us. Actually, they will. It was not bad. Oh, and I
3:09
have to say, um, we kind of we kind of negated oursel because on last week's episode, we were talking about how the
3:17
pastries here aren't so good and then we ended up having like a delicious pastry. Well, I think in all fairness, we were
3:22
talking about how the cakes and things aren't very good, right? the pastries as far as like croissants and I had a I had
3:29
like a this kind of sweet um croissanty type thing with with like walnuts on
3:35
top. It was so good. It was really really good. Um and you had a
3:41
broken going to feel sorry for us, but we were like, "Okay, let's try it again." Right. And and and and just so
3:48
you all know, we're not blindly. We checked on Google Maps and it said it was opened. Had a little green bar.
3:53
hours are good. And so we tried again a few days later and Tanya texts me, "Yeah, don't get on the bus. I'm driving
4:00
to you because I got there a little earlier than you could get there cuz I was driving." So I
4:06
just d I was like, "Let me this time I'm going to I'm going to drive by it before I park and then walk to it and and I
4:13
drove by it. I'm like, it's" And this was not a holiday week. This was nothing nothing was going on that week. It was
4:18
all back to normal. Theoretically, they were still closed. And the person across the street, I asked the person in the
4:23
bakery we were in before and I was like, "Are they supposed to be?" He's like, "I think they're supposed to be open." I'm like, "But he's like,"I don't know." So,
4:30
yeah, we don't know. So, we that's twice we tried. So, this second time I was like, "Don't get on, you know, Katana,
4:36
don't get on the bus. I'm coming to you. We're going to go to somewhere else." And, you know, it's it's annoying, but
4:42
we were rolling with it at that point. And we went for we went for another another breakfast somewhere else which a
4:49
local had one of my one of my Spanish moms from the bus stop who uh had recommended has been recommending this
4:56
place to me for now almost two years and I haven't been to it and it is around the corner so it's really a my bad
5:01
situation and she's like this she thinks it's some of the best tortilla tapa e bokado kind of places and I have to say
5:09
that it's called Texas and it was it was darn good. I'm not going to lie, it was darn good. And it was I was very happy
5:17
to be there. It put a smile on my face. We had a nice little We did. Yeah, it was really nice. We had a We had a
5:22
really nice breakfast. And I have to say, I love the stories from your bus stop, but this is like totally like this
5:28
really funny thing where you're learning so many things about Spain and about living in Valencia just from waiting at
5:34
the and dropping your kids off at the bus stop. So, that's like a whole that's like a whole thing. It is a whole thing.
5:41
And we have this we have this forced time together for five to 10 minutes depending on how long we get there. You
5:46
know who who shows up at what time. And um the the the kind of smile on my face
5:51
over even the bus stop is that you know it's half Spanish half expats. And there
5:57
are expats from all over. And there's a Venezuelan, there's a Russian family. Um
6:04
uh and then there's my Spanish mom friend. She's lived all she's lived in various places and so that us expats
6:12
we're all excited about new things we've seen and so we're sharing places we've
6:18
been and then the Spanish are like telling us places that we that they know is the right place and and they're not
6:25
wrong like they have their opinions but like we're getting these different perspectives some of us are excited to be here and then there's the people like
6:30
no that's this is the place like they have the historically good place to tell us you know if that makes sense the
6:35
place that you that's supposed to Good. And also I will say because you've mentioned before that you sort of don't meet a lot of parents from school
6:42
because you don't drop your kids off at school and that they're older and all that kind of stuff. So just a little caveat that the bus stop is quite a
6:48
social area and they may not be the kids they may not be the parents for the kids than your girls grades or levels or
6:55
whatever you have. But it is a place to meet other people from the school and have some kind of insight into both
7:00
Valencia and the school because some of them have been there longer than you um I'm sure at this point. But what we did
7:06
do which was fun was the we the place that we were sent to happened to be right next to the place that you were
7:13
talking about uh this episode. Right. Yes. The the prard store the the the
7:19
little news stand that sells the fireworks from Fias. Yes. Which I love. Yeah. So I was like do you want me
7:25
should we go in there and talk to the lady because you don't have any my Spanish is not great but I can sort of have a bit of a conversation. your
7:31
Spanish is uh way better than mine and I was humbled to put you. That's very
7:37
because the only way I have talked to that woman is through sign language and right
7:42
she was delightful. Can I just say what a lovely lady and she wasn't the one that threw the the the point of the
7:48
fireworks at the the building. Right. It was her friend. No, she was the one that did that. It was her, it was her friend
7:56
who laughed at me because I thought I set a building on fire and she was like,
8:01
"No, that doesn't happen." And then she came out, she's like, "Let me show you. This is what we do." She points to Yeah.
8:10
So, this is like a little corner shop, I would say, for use of a better word. And it's just the the those couple of ladies
8:15
and what a great personality, too. So, that was quite a joy. So, I was like, "We have this podcast. If you know anyone that speaks English, like maybe
8:22
you want them, maybe they want to listen to the story. Well, I heard her say long dress. Didn't she say she had someone in
8:28
London that could listen to us? Her friend, the other lady that laughed at you. Her child, I guess, lives in
8:35
London, so they have some English somewhere in the in the family that someone can listen to your story, which I think they'll get a kick out of your
8:40
story about the fireworks cuz it's sort of it was the other side of from from their point of view, right? Right. Maybe
8:46
they had told me, "You're not going to believe this idiot that was in here." Right. So, we ended up having a really
8:51
fun time. And I think that's one of those things that you that like you were saying earlier, it does put a smile on
8:57
your face when you just are we most of us have come here for a more relaxed,
9:02
more zen, like you said, sort of lifestyle. So, you really have to let go of the this instant way that everything
9:08
can be done at all hours of the day in America. For sure. A little bit in England as well like that. not as much
9:15
as America. And it's like if you roll with it, you sometimes often you find other things to do because we would
9:20
never have ended up in either of those places, right? Well, you know, and I would say what put the smile on my face
9:26
um about that interaction is we were sitting down and the woman walked by and I was like, "That's the woman." You're like, "Oh, should I talk to her?" But
9:32
it, you know, if I mean, I don't know about you, but my experience here in the city is I feel like it's a little bit
9:38
like Sesame Street. Like I walk down the street and there's that woman who I mean I've only had interactions with her
9:45
during Fias. I mean but I walk by and I can't show away but it's she remembers me. She waves. She says hello. This
9:52
morning I was going walking from the bus stop to go to the gym because I'm going to be fit. I keep telling myself this.
9:59
It's on my way to the gym, there's a woman sitting um at a at a different cafe, and it's the woman who owns the
10:08
little wine liquor store that I've been into maybe three times since we've lived
10:13
here for almost two years now. And she looked up at me and she waved and said,
10:18
"Hi, how are you?" You know, in Spanish. And I was responding in my brilliant perfection perfected Spanish. Um the
10:26
four phrases I know I know really well. And so your Spanish is better than you're saying. No, it is. It is. I
10:32
understand more. But it was it made me like it put a little kick to my step as we had our little interaction. Like this
10:38
is a woman who doesn't know me. I've been in the shop three times and and she
10:43
and she was very happy to see you. Yeah. And she took her time to say hi, how are you? While she was having breakfast with
10:49
someone else. It was just it was such a nice little interaction. And it's really nice and especially when you don't just
10:54
to touch on the Spanish a bit. I mean, thank you for what you say about my Spanish, but I am not where nowhere near
10:59
where I was hoping I would be after five years. I'm going to be honest. And that's frustrating. Wherever you think you want to be, it's a it's just for me
11:07
anyway, and I think for a lot of people, it's infinitely harder than you think to actually they're like just go to Spain
11:13
or go to wherever and you'll just learn the language. And it's like, it's actually not that easy because there are
11:18
so many other people here that speak English. Having English as a as your first language is a bit of a detriment
11:25
unfortunately because people will start speaking to you in English if they can and I I they will and also it doesn't
11:30
help us that we have families that speak English. We're just It's not like we're like we've moved here and we're 22 and
11:36
we live with the three other Spanish roommates and it's that would be ideal, right? That would be that. So in Yeah.
11:42
So on top of the on top of the that feeling that of community that you were talking about, I think it's it's really
11:49
nice, I think, to realize that you can you can still have that even if your Spanish hasn't reached the level that you want, you know. And I have that with
11:56
we live in an urbanization and so I have I see a lot of people in the urbanization. I'm friends with some of
12:02
them, but I also see a lot of other people. So I and it's it is kind of like, hey, how's it going? What's going
12:07
on? You know, and then something, you know, small talk and then you all move on, you know, right? And I think you can
12:13
have that in the city and you can have that outside of the city as well anywhere. And and and it makes you feel
12:18
less alone. I mean, I moved here with just my kids. We have no friends or family here. I mean, we didn't move here with friends or family. I mean, same,
12:25
you know, and so when you have these moments in a different culture that is completely otherw world than what we're
12:32
used to, right? It's like, okay, if I move from California to Nevada or Arizona, I speak the language, it would
12:39
be easier. So, it it it is when you have those moments of like, what did I do?
12:44
You know, I mean, I I don't know if you have those after five years and and not a regret, but just wake up of like, whoa, my life is different. Then
12:50
someone's like, hi, how are you? and you're like, "Oh, oh, that's nice." Yeah. I mean, it is. It makes you feel
12:57
like you've created a home, I think. And I think it's it's it's kind of we like we've talked about this before. We don't
13:03
bump into people that often because we're in the car a lot. Um but when you do bump into somebody or you have you
13:08
realize how many people, you know, you're like, "Oh, but it really does happen quicker than you think." and and
13:15
um to kind of that community feeling definitely you can have anywhere if
13:21
you're just outgoing enough to at least connect with people and say hi and and and the Spanish people are super
13:26
friendly as well. I will say they really are. They and it's and and and you don't feel that it's a because I want your
13:33
business again like they're just generally like to see you. They're like hi. Right. Right. Yeah. Exactly. So
13:38
other things that put a smile on our face. Oh my god. Yesterday. Um, so it's Zena's birthday, so you know, finding
13:46
gifts, blah, blah, blah, finding the right wrapping paper, doing all these things, making, you know, I mean, it's a it's probably the difference between
13:52
girls and boys. I don't know, but everything's got to be a certain way. But I went to um I don't know if you
13:59
have in the city because obviously there's a lot of things you can buy in Elcourt and these sort of things, but we
14:04
out here we have several toy stores. Like that's all they sell. It's just toys and games and all that kind of
14:10
stuff. So I went in there. We do have those here. We have these like old school I feel like it's 1950, right?
14:15
It's what it feels like like Main Street USA and there's like a guy that's like I sell model trains and you're like oh we
14:22
stopped that in America years ago. Right. We have a Toys R Us as well. I don't know if you have one. Oh, I did
14:27
see Yeah, the up in Buros is one by the hospital. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Not in the city. I haven't seen I think that's a suburb thing, but I could be wrong.
14:33
Yeah. Well, that was a that was a surprise because I thought they went out of business. But anyway, we have that.
14:39
Um, but I went into the toy shop and I bought something and then I when I came out I just was because it had been a
14:46
while since I'd actually been in a toy shop because Zena's getting now she's 13. It's like you kind of get out of
14:51
that age sort of toy shop stuff. So we haven't been there for like gifts and birthday parties and stuff. They have
14:58
wrapping stations, free wrapping stations and I was like, "Oh my god, I love this." That was to me the biggest
15:04
they have those in the city too at there's a there's a Chinese store that has them and I was like what is what
15:12
what free like I can and and it's the Chinese store so it's not like I'm coming like a like that's that's like
15:18
the 99 cent store and you're like but I mean they have obviously nice things there that you could buy as gifts and wrap and I was like what a
15:25
it was amazing and not only that there's wrapping paper there's tape there's scissors things and it's all it's
15:32
stocked and it's clean and it's ready to be used and it's huge. So you can I mean I bought just like a pack of Uno cards
15:38
because that was what I was looking for cuz we kind of collect Uno different variable of Uno things. So that was like
15:44
one of these just little gifts. So I all I needed was a tiny weeny piece of paper. Um and they have different sizes.
15:49
So they have like a a small roll of paper and a big roll of paper. So depending on the size of your gift like it was so organized. That's more
15:55
advanced than my little in the corner. So, I was like, "This is amazing." And I
16:01
just love that kind of thing where it's just people, it can be there because people respect it and they use it for
16:07
what it is. No one's going in there and just stealing a whole roll of paper or like leaving it in a in a mess so that
16:13
the next person can't use it. I mean, it's just very it's very respectful and useful. You know, it's a funny thing
16:19
that that makes me laugh and it makes me scratch my head, too, is because like in El Court gives you free gift wrapping
16:25
and I don't know if you knew that, but if you're like, I want to gift wrap and and sometimes it will just be like a nice gift bag and tied up nicely with a
16:32
ribbon, right? Like um so that's um but that's worth something because in
16:39
England are like five pounds. Exactly. Right. So, and and it's usually like branded or whatever, but like um like
16:45
it'll be the brand of whatever thing. Like if you bought a Ralph Lauren shirt, it would be a Ralph Lauren bag, but with a ribbon on it, whatever. Or they'll
16:51
wrap it in Elcourt paper. And that's all free. But if you want a shopping bag to take that home, they're going to charge
16:57
you. They're going to charge you a lot. So, I'm walking around the street cuz I'm cheap and I will not spend 15 cents
17:03
on a a shopping bag. You bought yourself a bunch of presents basically. Yes. It's
17:08
all presents. It's all presents. Can you put it in one of those gift bags though? Now I don't need it wrapped wrapped. Could you have the That's actually a
17:15
really good hack. I'm not going to That's a really good one. I love I hope I'm not ruining it for the rest of us now. You might be. But now they're going
17:21
to start charging for gift wrapping because you said this. Oh my gosh. No, I like that idea though because really
17:26
sometimes, you know, you just want it wrapped and you just need it done, right? Like right away. So I love that
17:32
that happens. And so speaking of birthday parties and things that make you smile, I don't know. Oh my god, I
17:38
have so many so many birthday party things. So they do do they do do birthdays different here and it and and
17:46
it was it's an adjustment. Can I say adjustment? But you go on tell you moved here first. So you tell us your your
17:53
experience. Well, you've probably had experience with this one. Maybe not my second story. Let's start with the first
17:58
one, which is um something that I had a hard time coming to terms with and I had to ask a few people when it first
18:05
happened to me because I thought it was like is this person just trying to get money or what? Like what's going on?
18:10
Because I didn't know the situation. It's very common here for them to just say everyone just going to give €10 and
18:17
then the parents is are going to buy like this big thing that the kid wants or you know something like that. So it
18:22
all so the kid gets like I don't know what it is a hoverboard or something instead of a whole bunch of little journals right um so this type of thing
18:29
and the first time it was like I got an invitation to a birthday party through what's up and it said here's you know be zoom us the the €10 if you want and then
18:37
I was like but I like to go and find a gift and put my personality into it and think about the person and then I was
18:43
like I don't need to do that for my daughter's friends like if that's not what they want why why I need to spend
18:48
an afternoon shopping I'm not really a big shopper well I mean I will to be honest, you know, back in back in the
18:54
States, I had a Connect 4 that I know has been regifted to like five different friends and it just keeps going around.
19:01
That's right. And I was like, we're I'm just I mean, we're like, take off last year's paper and give it to someone else cuz you're going to get it next year's
19:06
birthday back anyway. Like there's this I love that. And other other mom friends and dad
19:12
friends, they tell the same thing like, "Oh, no. I have a gift closet from stuff my kids don't want." And then I just regift that to another person. So, it's
19:18
really less. And um it it did seem strange to me when you told me about
19:24
this. I have not yet had the luxury of being able to just send €10 to someone.
19:29
It's so great. Just it's so great. And this maybe this this might happen when the kids are younger. So it may never
19:34
happen to you. It may be something that happens when they're younger. I think so because now it's like the girls are
19:40
giving lists to their friends and it's only like four friends and it's all it's not handling between them. Like it's not I'm not involved. That's a good point.
19:46
It's less people. I mean now it's like look just go to normal like we did for Zia's birthday we we went around normal
19:53
picked up everything that was in my basket I was like are you going to buy this fine I'll get it for your daughter I'll get this for your daughter am I
19:59
done here yeah that's it but it is nice it's and but you're right it might be
20:04
for something for younger kids cuz we I haven't come across that in a little bit now because now she wants everything you
20:10
know just it's easy face creams creams body creams lip glosses like anything and if it's pink bonus or if it looks
20:17
like a marshmallow bonus, you know, right? Well, I mean, I think the beauty of the gift thing after I got rid of 95%
20:23
of our belongings to move here, right? And all that junk and consumption and
20:29
all of that. I mean, they most people are living in smaller apartments here. You who wants 33 gifts that the kids
20:35
aren't going to play with that you have to like when you just it's just a there's so much waste that's been is resolved with this. And I'm like, what a
20:42
gosh. I would I I wish I would have I wish that was a thing because of all the birthday parties I threw. It would have
20:47
been nice to have had $200 in cash to buy them a thing versus I mean, how many
20:54
arts and crafts gifts just I just tossed that never got opened, right? Because you don't have the time to do all the arts and crafts and when they've got all
21:00
these other activities and and all that. True. I mean I mean kudos Spain. I'm giving you a shout out. I don't know if
21:06
other countries do that, but I think it should be a worldwide thing. It's awesome. I think so. I've never come across it and I think it's amazing. And
21:12
it was funny how of a of a big of a question I had too. That was surprising
21:17
to me. I like didn't really get it not having done it. And then now that I get it, I'm like, "Brilliant." Right. Right.
21:24
I mean, that is the that's that's the the the thing about living in a foreign country, right, is you have to embrace
21:30
embrace things that are just not done the way that you're used to them being done. and that embrace it. There are
21:35
ways are other ways they can get done and sometimes brilliantly well. Just because you're not used to it doesn't
21:41
mean it's wrong. Absolutely. Yeah. If you give it time to think about it and and go through with it and see how people are doing things, you're like
21:48
that's that's great. You know, like why not? And and not to say that everything goes smoothly here because there's a lot
21:54
of things that will shake your head up, but you know, it really isn't right when the Spaniards agree with you that no, that shouldn't be done that way, but it
22:00
is how we do it and we're not changing it. It doesn't make any sense, but we're
22:05
going to keep doing it anyway. Well, the other one for me, and I think this is something that is a bit more um for
22:12
younger kids, so again, you may not have experienced this one, and I we were a couple of years in and then, you know,
22:18
we because of co we didn't have any birthday parties and stuff. So, we were already like two years in before sort of
22:24
we started doing proper birthday parties again. and and we obviously hadn't quite
22:30
assimilated either because we were just doing our own American thing at home where we were locked down. So, it was like took us a little longer to kind of
22:37
find things and realize how things were going. And I dropped Zena off at a birthday party at a friend's house and
22:43
at like I don't know 2:00 in the afternoon or something. And then we're like, "Yeah, we'll just, you know, we're just going to go um we'll we'll text you
22:50
later when it's over or whatever." And I'm like, "Fine, I'll be around anyway." Um, I didn't pick her up until 11:30 at
22:57
night. Okay. Which perfectly normal apparently, but that wasn't even the weird thing because I was kind of
23:03
expecting that because they had a pool party and then they watched a movie and whatever. But the the funny part of it
23:09
was that um it was 11:30 at night and they hadn't had dinner.
23:15
No, that's even late for Spain. That's even late for Spain cuz the restaurants are closing at that time, right?
23:22
I mean, I was just like, so now at 11:30, I'm trying to find Zena food and I'm like, this isn't how we roll. I
23:28
don't have anything. So, I was like, always have something on hand, right? Like, always
23:34
have something quick on hand. There isn't 24hour here. I don't know if there's 24-hour in Madrid or Barcelona.
23:40
I mean, there's like the car for Express, I think, will stay open until 1, but like that's just a convenience store, right? like in in the same I mean
23:47
I don't know about Virginia but you know in LA I mean grocery there's there's at least a few that are open 24 hours and
23:53
they're all open till like 2:00 in the morning and you and fast food is open late like everything's open late you
23:59
don't always want to be in those places at 2 o'clock in the morning I'm going to say but they are there they are there but I mean it's funny for a for a for a
24:06
place that thrives on being up late not a lot's open late you know no no there's
24:12
not much open late but that was just kind of a funny thing so it's like just be preped hair because you're you you
24:17
will sometimes be sort of forced into even if you're not doing it at home, you will be forced into that like late
24:23
lifestyle, you know, by things like this. And you know, she had a good time and it was all good, but it was like but
24:29
she was chewing the seat belt as you were driving. Yeah, it is possible now that I think about it that she was
24:36
offered food that she didn't want to eat. That is probably more likely the scenario because she's such a picky
24:41
eater. But um you know it's also possible that everyone was just going to go home and eat at that hour because
24:47
they would have you know right or she was offered croquetas and right and and
24:52
oven oven baked French fries and she was not having any of that. This was quite early on so she hadn't quite
24:59
acclimatized to pa and the basics and the patatas braavas and stuff yet. So, I
25:04
think it's possible, you know. Um, but it was funny. It was kind of a a Spain moment for us that you just have to be
25:10
like, "This is funny, right?" Yeah. You know, it is just it's just funny. And and I think that the there's a lot of
25:17
little things like that that will kind of put a smile on your face. I think for
25:22
for sure. I mean, there was we had eaten at this one restaurant um that we love,
25:28
but we don't eat out that often. and we had moved here and it was our first week
25:34
or two that we moved here and the kids are walking around and it was you know again it was 173 degrees and there was
25:39
this place um and um it's a Peruvian restaurant around the corner and the
25:46
food was amazing but we went there and and couple months later it was my birthday and I was like why don't we go
25:52
back to that place for my birthday dinner so I put a reservation only ate there once for lunch months before and
25:59
and we get there and the woman who it's a husband and wife own this restaurant
26:05
and um she's like, "Oh, hi. How are you?" And I'm like, "How does she remember
26:10
me?" And she's like, "I saw your name on the reservation list and my husband doesn't speak any cuz they're from Peru,
26:15
but I think she had lived in the States." And um anyway, her English is is great. And she was like, "So, I
26:21
wasn't supposed to work tonight, but I saw your name on the reservation, so I wanted to make sure that you had a good day." And she didn't know it was my
26:26
birthday. I was like, "It's my birthday." She's like, "Well, it's even better that I showed up." And I'm like, I don't know. That's so sweet. It's so
26:33
sweet. And restaurants that we've been to once, we go back months later. They're so genuinely happy to see you.
26:39
And it's not like I'm, you know, I'm not like some recognizable. I'm not a We are not celebrities yet. Hopefully. Oh gosh.
26:45
They'll be throwing the doors open for us or locking them or locking them before we get there. But yeah, I think
26:51
the latter. That's really nice though. I mean that's just and then to put the thought into
26:57
it, right? That when she saw your name, that's really really nice. It was and it really made my birthday. So shout out to
27:03
So shout out to them. You know what I mean? Right. Absolutely. [Music]
27:14
Um so we we had a funny experience. Um, one of the things I do love, um, that
27:19
makes me happy because we have a dog is they're very pet friendly here as far as
27:24
like you can walk into most stores with your dog. Even my giant dog, your giant
27:30
German Shepherd can go into like in the city into stores and stuff. I've been I
27:35
haven't done a lot of shopping in the city, but I don't think they would care. I mean, they I mean, you can't go into
27:40
the grocery stores, um, obviously, but nobody really seems to care. And then the other thing is they have um they
27:47
have dog beaches which are just for the dogs. But then during the winter from roughly October to May Okay. All the
27:55
beaches you can take your dog to anywhere. Gotcha. So I can drive. Can they be off leash? Well I I mean
28:02
theoretically I mean yes you can and they can be off leash at the dog beach.
28:07
But, you know, if you go to like when I go to the beach near us, like Puth or El P like here, there there there aren't a
28:15
lot of people there in the winter. So, it's really nice and you just let the dog go. I did have an experience once, so you have to be careful. So, we were
28:21
we went to a dog beach in um uh Portier right there where that big um sort of
28:27
little Venice is. Yeah. The the it Yeah, it feels like something that should be in Vegas. Yeah. Right. I know. But it's
28:33
so pretty. I love that area. It's this little um and that did put a smile on my face. It's this little they have like a
28:39
Leroy Merlin and some shops and Alcampo and stuff there. But then next to it is all these um sort of town homes and
28:46
apartment building complex. It's a it's a master plan community that looks like Venice. It's it's trying to do this like
28:51
replication of Venice but with highrises but but they're all stuckcoed and colored and bright color. Oh, it's a
28:58
it's a great little area to show around. bunch of cute little restaurants and shops and you can and they've got the little the water goes through and all
29:05
the buildings and you've got little boats. You can have a little you could have your apartment and your town home and your boat and it's really cute. It's
29:12
a little marina but like marina. It's really cute. And then but they have a
29:17
dog beach down there. So I went down there once with Blae. She was this was I haven't gone back since because of this.
29:24
Um and it was Anyway, so we went down there. We go to the dog beach
29:30
and we had when we were walking from the parking lot to the beach, there's a prominard there. There was somebody on
29:36
the prominard and at this point Bla1 had her leash on. We walked through the prominard and and like a little like I
29:43
don't know several like like benches away was somebody with a rabbit, a pet
29:49
rabbit. Okay. Over. I want to know where this is going. I'm scared. I was very scared.
29:56
So, but we walked. I'm like, maybe she didn't see it. We go down to the dog beach, right, which was just right there. I let her off the leash. She had
30:04
seen the rabbit. She goes charging back off the beach, back up to the the
30:11
prominard, runs through people who probably think she's going to eat them, right? Because they don't know. She's
30:18
this giant dog just running. She's like, "I saw that rabbit. I smelt that rabbit. I'm going for that rabbit." And I'm
30:24
like, I there's no way I can stop this. So, I'm running after her. I'm screaming her name. Right. So, the whole scenario
30:30
just looks terrifying. It was And my heart was like pounding and I'm like, "Oh, she's I knew she was going for the
30:36
rabbit." Right. Right. Yeah. Yeah. And she just ch but all these people are just like, "What's going on?" Like, I'm
30:43
scream. The dog's running. That's it. And she gets to where the rabbit and literally within like nanoconds they had
30:49
managed to take the rabbit off the floor and put it back in this pet carrier that they had. Thank god. But I was thinking
30:56
at the same time are they is she going to eat the people looking for the rabbit? Like she's the friendliest dog.
31:02
Like she loves people. German shepherds are scary. I mean they but they're scary, right? Because they look like
31:07
they're going to eat you and you're used to not well portrayed in the movies. You are not well portrayed in the movies. You do. And people that don't know
31:13
German shepherds will think that, right? And and I was like, "Oh my god, this I was so close that she was so close to a
31:19
really really good." So is the reason why you haven't been banned back is because you've actually been banned. Is
31:24
that is that I remember the last time I was in Port Supply, there were sketchings. I didn't
31:30
pay attention to the side. German Shepherd on me. Well, yeah. I mean, it was you police sketch of someone. If you
31:36
see this, I wouldn't be surprised. But I will say in all fairness to me and to Bla1, what the hell are you doing with a
31:43
pet rabbit at a dog beach, I wanted to go take the rabbit
31:48
and say, "You are not responsible parents. You're a not responsible pet." And I I know someone that could use a
31:54
rabbit. Got to give it to the right person in Spain, though, because you don't want them putting it in a paella.
32:00
Oh my god. Which is delicious, though. It is really good. I've heard too many stories of of of
32:07
adults and spa Spanish adults that's like yeah when I was a kid like grandma cooked our rabbit and I'm thinking
32:13
that's very traumatic but was the rabbit in your house probably because it was going to get cooked not because it was supposed to be a pet. Yeah. So that was
32:20
the wrong do not if you have rabbits don't take them down to the dog beach.
32:26
That was very stressful. I would I wouldn't even think of that for sure. Yeah, I was not expecting that. And then
32:32
our f our friends were meeting us with their dog and by that point I had I had Blaze on a leash and I was like I I
32:37
can't let her off again. Like I was too stressed. Flustered. I was so flustered doesn't even describe how I was.
32:44
I haven't been back there just in case that's a frequent thing that they do. But yeah, that was that was super fun.
32:50
But on the on the happy side, the dog beaches are great. They got lots of places for dogs to go and during the
32:56
winter, which I love when there's not anybody on the beach, you can take your dog to anywhere. And I love that they
33:02
open it for that. I think that's really really really cool. And I think they wouldn't have to, you know, right? Um
33:08
but they, you know, they do they do a good job with that. So that's one of my things that I love. Um well, speaking of
33:13
beach, my goal next week is to go to the beach because my children never want to go. So while they're still in school, my goal hopefully if there's an 80°ree um
33:21
day next week, um I'm going to go to the beach and have an alone day and and
33:26
enjoy and I'll look out for you and your German Shepherd. There you go. Well, I will say if you're going to do that,
33:31
check the um because since you're in the city, it happens to us here too and we're up in the mountains and we get
33:38
quite a bit of wind and usually I know whether it's going to be windy at the beach because it would be quite windy up here, but I've had a couple of times
33:44
where I should have checked the wind on the weather app and seen how the wind is
33:49
right realistically at one of the cities at the beach because if it's not relaxing at all if you go down there and
33:55
it's crazy windy cuz that happened to us like a week ago. I was like, "Let's take Blaze down and walk." We both We were
34:01
just like so blown away there and it was and the sea was rough and everything. I mean, well, where we are, if it's windy
34:07
at the beach, it'd be windy here cuz we're not that far. I mean, we're only walking distance to the beach. I mean, it's a long walk, but you can walk it,
34:14
you know. Um, and Valencia, I mean, for people to know, Valencia is a windy city. It is a very windy city. Um, yeah.
34:22
Uh, yeah. I mean, I've had moments there where we and also up in Sagunto like
34:27
where our um where our Spanish class was. Like it would be nice up here and I would get down there where the and you
34:34
would just get blown across the street. Right. Right. Like it was crazy. So they'll it'll be windy in a pocket and
34:40
not windy somewhere else too. So yeah, it's that's the apps are good because they do have they will mention Do you
34:47
have a good weather app? because I'm just going to say uh I I do not smile at the um at the uh weather app that is
34:54
proprietary to my phone. I use Acue weather. I think that's probably the most accurate accurate weather. Um but
35:02
in reality, it'll tell me it's not raining and I'm like it's literally pouring right now for sure. No, like literally we have like a thunderstorm.
35:08
There's a 30% chance of rain. It's 100% raining if you just looked outside.
35:14
Yeah, but they probably don't have people everywhere. I find acue weather to be the best. It gives me the best um
35:20
actual results. And when it starts, even if it says it's not going to rain and then it starts raining, it tends to
35:26
change and go, "Oh, it's raining now." So, it has something going on. I'm sorry. I'm calling them out. Apple doesn't say that. The Apple weather app
35:33
does not tell you does not change it. Oh, it's rain. No, it's literally like thundering lightning and Yeah. And I
35:39
don't know where they're getting they might be getting their information from ACU weather. I don't know. But it's been definitely more more realistic. And then
35:45
there's also um and I can't remember the name of it, but there's also a surf like a surf app as well. Um if you if you
35:53
want to know the the surfing I do, not
35:58
you, but I have a paddle board which I love but I haven't used very much. Um
36:04
and part of the issue with that is I really if you actually want to be able to stand up on it, you really need to go
36:10
when the water is flat as a pancake. And well, I I have to say since we've not
36:16
been to the beach a million times, but we go, right? And I've never seen like
36:22
waves. It's always seems like glass. There's rolls, but like not California waves. I'm not seeing or I mean I grew
36:28
up in New Jersey and and lived in California, so I'm used to waves that people can surf on. Oh, it was very
36:34
wavy. I'm like, no. I mean, but it might be our level of
36:39
surfing kind of waves. Well, I have I have no level of surfing. Exactly. So,
36:46
no, I would say that yeah, you're not going to get waves waves, but if you want to paddle board and stand up, I
36:51
think you the I mean, unless you're really good at it, for me, it's been quite hard to do, like you need it really flat. And I think the there are
36:58
people and there are for kids as well, there's like summer camps and things where they actually do do surfing on the
37:05
days where they have a little bit of weight because they just want a little bit. They don't right in LA waves.
37:13
That is no one's dream. No, no, no, not at all. Yeah. So, I think yeah, the
37:19
beach and, you know, having the the summer camps are awesome as well. And I think there's there's things you can do
37:25
for kids as well. So, um I think the the amount of waves would not would not be
37:31
good for somebody that actually wanted to surf. They do, you know, they do they do kite surfing. No. Yeah, they do. Yeah, they they do the kite. Well,
37:37
they've got the wind for it. You've got the wind for it. The wind to get up in the air for sure. Yes. Very popular
37:42
here. Very popular here. Looks terrifying. And I would not I would not do that. But and I don't know about the
37:48
beaches up there, but the, you know, the the city beaches, the shelf is very flat. So, you're not going to get waves
37:55
because you can walk out, you know, 100 meters and you're still like at, you know, um maybe knee depth, right? It
38:02
takes a long while cuz like in the summer here um the water's so hot it's not refreshing. Like you boil and then
38:09
you have to walk so far out to finally get the cool. I think we Yeah, that that'll vary. That'll vary from beach to
38:14
beach. Yeah. So like some of the beaches we go to they like it goes down normally and then it goes up again and you have a
38:19
shelf and then it goes down again or it just you have to go further out. Yeah. So that varies from beach to beach a
38:25
little bit. Okay. Gotcha. But you will have a lovely time at the beach and that is definitely the beaches are I love the
38:31
beach so that will make you smile. I wish my kids loved the beach. Um but I
38:36
love the beach. They never Well, their kids they don't want to do anything. They don't want to go anywhere. You know
38:41
the teenager years it's the definitely not be seen with me. Well that's I need Well, that's my plan this
38:49
summer is I'm going to hang out with friends and you guys can stay at home alone. It's fine. I'm going to keep my
38:54
Spanish smile going this summer. regardless of the fact that the kids are home. Well, what I do is we we go, but
39:01
it's different when you have one kid, I think. So, we go and we meet a friend of hers and their family at the beach and we go, but we're it's it's a bit more
39:08
accessible for us, I think, where we are. So, we'll just go down and we'll, you know, everyone and and then I'll
39:13
hang out with with the parents and the girls will go splash around and do their thing or take the paddle board or
39:18
whatever. And and that's very doable. My oldest has done that with her friends, but I'm not invited, you know, like the
39:24
friends are now they're at the age where the parents are dropping them off and and Oh, okay. Wow. You know, or we'll
39:30
meet there or it's places that because because we don't have a car, you know, then someone picks them up and I'm like, well, I'm not I'm not going to um drive
39:37
north for the day to hang out with a bunch of teenage kids. No,
39:43
good. I'll stay home. I'll stay home and walk around my little Sesame Street neighborhood and have the fruit guy wave
39:49
to me and the the barber wave to me. I don't go to the barber because I'm bald, but my I was going to say, hey, hey, now
39:57
I've got one hair. I wrap it around. Yeah, somewhere somewhere around there.
40:02
Well, definitely a good idea to go to the beach while the while the girls are still in school. For sure. Yeah, for sure. And it doesn't I actually love the
40:09
beach. I prefer the beach actually at this time of year and during the winter when it's a nice day because it's not
40:16
very packed and it's really nice. I prefer it not to be crowded and prefer it um but you know I
40:22
like the the the beach can I stutter more? The speech puts a smile on my
40:27
face, but even down there where we never go, there's a place that we go and get paella and every time we go and it might
40:34
be many, many months, they're like, "Welcome back." And you're like, you see thousands of people like this is like
40:39
and they could be lying. Maybe they're just lying. They just tell that to everyone. But it just makes me happy. It
40:44
makes it makes you happy even if they're lying. So, it's working. Yeah, it's working. So, yeah. And the beach is nice
40:50
down. You have I mean, you have a very nice white beach down there, but also a prominard. And like we've gone down
40:55
there and just ridden our bikes around and stuff as well. And and it breaks up in sections. So there's like a little area where there's shops and restaurants
41:01
and then it then it's just housing and then there's another area with shops. Like it's like neighborhoods at the beach. It's not just some long strand of
41:09
of right of of stuff, right? Of the same, you know. Um and what I will say
41:15
is it's not um it's not filled with any kind of tacky t-shirt shops, which I love. It's
41:22
kind of very It has all the normal shops which is weird. Right. Right. Has like Yeah. It's got like an alley hop and
41:27
it's got cafes, but it's not like just junk. It's got like things you might need for the beach, but it's not like a
41:33
Venice Beach where it's just No. Like Venice in California, just non-stop just
41:38
tacky t-shirt shops and and and $2 sunglasses and stuff like that, right?
41:44
Yeah. I mean, very different. Like in Sagunto, for instance, they'll have I think maybe on Saturdays, I'm not sure how many days they do it. Um, so they
41:51
have we have like there's a nice beach there. Then there's like a prominade for walking. Um, and on that prominade
41:58
they'll have sometimes like a like a temporary market type thing where people they have like little tents put up and
42:04
then it is like craftsy and knickknacky things. Is that the markets that like go every like it's just in a different
42:10
place every day that the roving market and it'll have like Yeah. And I think
42:16
that's kind of that gives a little bit of extra shopping there that maybe you wouldn't get otherwise, which I think is
42:22
is nicely organized. They have a really good farmers market in Sagunto, but it's further in because Sigunto is kind of um
42:28
like you got the beach side and then there's a bit of commercial in the middle and then by the mountains you have the old part of Sagunto. So it's
42:34
not it's quite a big sort of area with different sort of elements to it. I've noticed that a lot in Spain. I mean
42:40
maybe not all of Spain, but definitely in the Valencian region. You see a city and they're like, "Oh, you're like, but that the city's nowhere near the beach,
42:46
but then it has a Playa de City, right?" Like, so it's like Sagunto and Playa de Sagunto and then there's Alariah, it's
42:53
Alberia Play Alariah, right? So it's like there's the the city and then there's a beach city and they aren't
43:00
connected. There could be orange groves and fields and or industrial parks like it's it's not walking from one to the
43:06
other. Yeah. So I'm sort of I mean we lived in El Pooch for a while and I loved that and it had exactly like that
43:12
and it was quite hard to go from from the town to the beach which I thought was a bummer because you could walk
43:18
through the orange fields but it was quite a maneuver and you really had to know what you were doing. Right. Puthall which has the same situation like you
43:24
just said where you have this the town and then this the beach part separated by by the auto and stuff. Right. I mean,
43:31
they actually have a walking path down the road. So, you can, if you want to walk that far, walk on a nice on or bike
43:38
on a nice path that's separated from the road, but next to the road with sort of
43:44
um you know, bushes and stuff, so it's not it's a nice a really nice little place. I've even seen people riding their horses down there. So, probably
43:50
you can do if you have a horse, you can also go down there. Yeah, I'm not going to get a car, but I'm going to buy a
43:56
horse. That's the plan. I think a lot of people have that feeling. So, you joke, but people do it anyway. So,
44:03
yeah, I've seen that's really nice in that area. And I was like when I was like that's a nice thing to have. Like
44:09
you said, if you if the if the beach is a bit further away, it is nice if you can ride a bike down there or something
44:14
properly. For sure. For sure. Um, and it's also relatively flat there, so you
44:20
know, it' be a it would be it' be a nice little trip. You got to cart all your things to the beach. That's I don't know how you all do it when like you have to
44:27
get on a bus with all the things you want there. I put everything in the car and I'm like, I'm not carrying this from the car to the beach. To the beach. What
44:33
are you taking to the beach, though? I need everything. Have you seen what people do here? It's crazy. They bring
44:39
like the tent and then they bring like tables and chairs and they're playing like like
44:44
chess lunch. If it doesn't fit in one backpack, it ain't going. So, and my
44:49
kids are older, so no longer do I have to bring the sand toys and all the stuff to keep and all the foods and all the
44:55
things I get. A couple bottles of frozen water, maybe a bag of grapes and three towels and a sheet and that's all we're
45:01
taking. Um, and and that and that was when they were younger, it stopped me from wanting to go to the beach because
45:06
it was such a hassle with kids. You got to bring so much to keep them entertained. Um, but also in the summer
45:12
it's very hot, so you really do need to bring an umbrella, which you're not going to bring. So you really your time
45:18
is limited on the beach, I think. But that mean that limits your time because Oh, we're olive skinned people. We're
45:23
fine. Well, definitely the beach is something that makes us smile, I guess, when when
45:30
we go. Not as often as we thought we would go, to be honest. But I thought I'd be a beach bunny, but I really haven't been a beach bunny since before
45:36
I had kids. Because before I had kids in living California, I went to the beach all the time. And then since kids, I
45:43
don't go and I thought, "Oh, we'll be here." But it's not convenient for me in the it's it is a half hour 45 minute bus
45:49
ride. So it is it is a commitment of the day versus like if we lived down there I'd probably go all the time if we were
45:55
closer. But like it's it's an it's really an hour for me to get there apart from my I decide to leave the house at
46:01
times I'm finally on the sand and relaxed and then two hours there and then another hour. That's that's the day
46:08
which I'm going to plan next week. I'm going to take the day. We'll check in on that. And I just see get that smile on
46:14
my face. Exactly. Oh my goodness. Yeah. Well, and I will say another thing that
46:20
does put a smile on my face, even though it's one of those things that maybe didn't at the very very beginning is the
46:26
siesta time, right? I mean, now the Yeah, I loving I'm loving it now. I'm
46:32
too. I think it's I'm it it took me a while. It was frustrating at first. I agree. But like it the Spanish
46:38
lifestyle. I mean, it's I have a it it makes me happy. I know um when things
46:45
are closed, uh I'm relaxed for it and I'm there for it. I know when to eat,
46:50
right? There's something about the mental side of knowing that something can be done at any time of day that is
46:57
kind of that sort of just keeps your in in a negative way. It keeps your stress
47:02
going because it's like if I need to do something, oh, I can go to Target or somewhere and get it done at any time of
47:08
day, so why aren't I doing it? Oh, you know, I best guess I better go do it. What if there's a whole time of the day
47:14
and and things where things can't get done? It's like, well, I can't do that now. So, it forces you to get things if
47:20
it forces you to be more efficient, right? Because if things are open, you can procrastinate, but then you're also
47:25
overwhelmed thinking, well, since everything's open, I can get all these things done and I say create more things to do. And here, well, I can't do
47:33
anything for those three hours, so I'm going to just, you know, perfect time for me to journal. Or maybe I'll do my
47:39
crossword puzzle now because I can't do anything else. Have you been journaling? I have been journaling. You have? Good
47:46
for you. I have I I will say I have started that in the
47:52
last five months, six months I want to say. um something I used to do a lot and
47:58
then I stopped when I had kids and and so I'm I'm like what can I do is I'm
48:03
just you know to clear my head in the morning I'm trying to zen my life out so
48:08
um even more so you're in the right place for it I am. Yeah.
48:14
I think so. I hope that helps. Hope it helps for sure. So if anyone has any things that make you happy from Spain,
48:20
please let us know. I mean, we're I'm sure we'll be t uh touching on this subject many many more times. We didn't
48:27
even talk about the food, did we? Really? No. That puts a smile on our face. And I'm going to say it doesn't
48:34
mean there's a lot of good food here. And I I will say um it's a one of the
48:40
things that we moved for was a better source of food and that's definitely the quality of food here is better. So when
48:47
you're buying things, I I do I do love that as aspect of things, not only just the food that's available, you know,
48:54
it's healthier. And I will say, you know, to to to kind of round up the smile on our face and and that is that
49:00
it took me a while, and I think I've brought this up before, getting used to just buying stuff that you're going to
49:06
use now because they don't have the preservatives in it. And it was frustrating. Like I'd opened up a thing of um
49:13
uh uh mayonnaise maybe something. Yeah, it was the mayonnaise. I mean, who
49:18
knows? There was There's been a few things actually. And I open it up and I was like, how is this? And I brought this up before. I'm sure it's like it
49:25
spoiled and rotten already. And this is supposed to last forever. And you throw it away. And now I'm just like, okay,
49:30
well, I got to remember that. The happiness is I'm not eating all this stuff created by a company with with all
49:37
the preservatives and add questionable scruples. Yes. That is the word I was
49:42
looking for. That was the word you're looking for. So all Yeah. But all the things I mean that's one of the things that that constantly makes me happy is
49:48
that I think we have a much better source of food here. And I think that no matter what no matter you're buying for
49:54
yourself, it's not as hard to find good stuff. Like you really had to dig around. We had we had a we had some good
49:59
grocery stores that were very wholesome where we lived, but you know here you don't have to dig for that as much and
50:05
you don't have to pay for it. And you're not paying as much for it either. It was very much a luxury there. Yeah. Very
50:10
much a luxury. And you know that's oh I have to eat organic and I'm and and this and that. Yeah. But you know one
50:16
strawberry is one price here and if you don't have you know paying $30 a pound
50:22
for a strawberry you're going to get the other one. You don't have a choice. here. It's It's already pre It's already pre, you know, I mean, they have organic
50:30
and eco, but I mean, you don't see that in the grocery stores. I mean, the fruit's the fruit, so I'm assuming it's all organic, right? Well, and speaking
50:36
of fruit, I mean, I'm getting bags of lemons and oranges and stuff from my neighbors because we live out here. So,
50:41
no, I like lemons and oranges, too. I have none to spare. I love it. I mean, I'm just like
50:48
I I'm looking at that tree. I know nothing's been on that tree. And it's and not only is it amazing, it's also
50:54
free. So, you know, it's like you can also this is a great climate if you want to grow your own stuff almost year round
51:01
as well. Um I know you're limited if you live in the city, but if someone's thinking of moving outside the city, you
51:06
can have a little spot and grow a lot of stuff, too. Well, I had a friend that came over the other day and he saw the
51:13
balcony. He's like, because now we're getting all the sun in the city, right? The light shifting and the sun's over our head. So my front balcony gets all
51:20
this this light and he's like you could totally plant and grow some vegetables out here. Look at all the I'm like you
51:26
can. I'm not. But you can if you want to come here plant some tomatoes for me and get everything going. Go right ahead.
51:33
No, no, no. I'm suggesting you make friends with the right people. That's what I did. Gotcha. I am only making friends with people around my
51:38
urbanization that have fruit trees in their gardens
51:44
because then it's good stuff. Oh my good. But that is something that's kind of a joy. I think as well. So, I think
51:51
that that covers the things that I can think of today of but I'm sure there's plenty more. This might be a multi-
51:56
episode. Well, I think you'll keep coming back into the the smiles. Um, but
52:02
I I think that's what we have for you. I hope we put a smile on your face. Yep. There you go. You know, put a smile on
52:08
my face. Put one on mine, too. And in my heart. There you go.
52:14
So, as we say here in Spain, adios, adios, a leego, actually, because now
52:20
you have to use the difference because adios is goodbye forever. So, we kind of want people to come back. So, a logo.
52:26
And then they say ciao here, but they spell it differently, which like is that what you texted me the other day? Mhm.
52:32
That's how you spell the spelling for it. Now, you know, I don't know. You know what? And we're not going to tell
52:37
you. Save that for the next episode. Oo, sneaky.
52:43
All right. Bye all. Bye. [Music]
